QR Codes: A Digital Demo

QR Codes are a handy tool that takes readers of print materials to a specific location on the internet. In this video, I demonstrate the free tools that I use to create a QR code and a brief demonstration of how I go from a .URL to a printable business card with a QR Code.

Making a QR Code: overview

Step One: Select your URL. A QR Code will take your potential client, customer or student directly to a specific location on the web using the photo ap on their Smart Phone. For the purposes of this demo, I'm using my blog page: http://www.davina.us/blog/home/

Step Two: Use a free QR Code Generator to create your code. Save it as an image or make a screen grab. I like to use this site, but there are others to choose from: https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/

Step Three: Save your code. Be sure to use a unique name and save it with your business or marketing information.

Step Four: Use your QR Code in your print materials. I like to use the free design layout software Canva to create flyers, postcards, business cards and more. For this demo, I'm placing the QR Code from my blog page on a new business card design. Here's a link to the Canva website if you would like to design your own business card: https://www.canva.com/
